Community Based English Tutoring - Free English Classes
The purpose of the Community-Based English Tutoring (CBET) Program is for local educational agencies to provide free or subsidized programs of adult English language instruction to parents or other members of the community who pledge to provide personal English language tutoring to English learners and to assist their child in the area of academics. The goal of teaching parents English is to enable them to be an active part of their child's education. Here at Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District we are proud to offer two locations, Corvallis Middle School and Waite Middle School, in which parents part take in activities such Rosetta Stone, Computer Basics, Internet Safety, Touch Typing and Guitar lessons.
