Welcome to Chavez Elementary

Welcome to the Chavez Elementary School internet site.

Please stop by our office for a visit or to set up an appointment for a tour.

Chavez school is proud to have earned a state API Similar School Ranking of 10 for the 2010-2011 School Year. This is the highest ranking that is possible. The teaching staff at Chavez is the finest anywhere and this ranking is one indicator of their hard work and caring culture.

We have many uniques programs at Chavez. We have a SMART Interactive White Board in EVERY classroom on our campus. This technology has shown through research, to be highly effective in helping all students achieve.

Our upper grade students all get music lessons at least 2 times per week. Our 5th graders are learning how to play keyboards and play a variety of percussion instruments. Our 6th graders are all learning to play classical guitar. All Chavez students will be able to read music and play at least one musical instrument before they leave Chavez for Middle School. Next year we will begin a relationship with the Los Angeles Music Center. Our upper grade students will learn how to perform Opera!

We believe that all students learn at very high levels when they are held to the highest standards of behavior and curriculum. Every member of the staff at Chavez believes that no matter how hard the task, if it is what is best for a child, then that is what we will do.

I am honored to be a part of this excellent staff and I look forward to serving the wonderful Chavez community.
