PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Greetings from Dulles Elementary School!

Welcome to a lovely school. Dulles Elementary provides many quality learning opportunities for our students both academically and socially.  We are all very proud to be a part of this outstanding school community.

Children are the main focus of our academic program.  We believe that all children must have the opportunity to receive a well designed, rigorous curriculum based on the State of California Content Standards. Our teachers are committed to working diligently to ensure the academic success of all our children. This summer they received two books for their summer learning to develop their skills on current brain research to target engaging teaching strategies to build their students' enthusiasm for learning. As we continue our learning, we will witness some amazing changes in our understanding of what conditions are necessary for effective teaching and learning.

Our goal is that every child achieves proficiency in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, the Arts and Physical Education.  We also foster an environment where children develop the ability to think and make decisions, develop self-esteem and concern for others, and are encouraged to be excited about their own learning. Our goal is for all of our children to become well-educated, thinking, caring citizens who can be successful in a rapidly changing world.

The Arts is an important part of our educational program at Dulles.  We strongly believe what research supports is that through music, our children achieve academic success.  The rhythm taught through recorders, world percussions, bells, and xylophones provide children with the academic discipline that helps them in math and other academic subjects.  In addition, our children experience visual and performing arts in the areas of drama, vocal music, and art.

Parent involvement is key to our school's success and we have amazing parental support and involvement. We encourage our parents to become team members in their children's education and welcome them on our campus to volunteer in our classrooms, become active members of our PTA, and attend all activities sponsored by the Dulles community. Our PTA continues to enrich our school by supporting engaging activities and academic support through our Art Program, assemblies and a variety of age appropriate Field Study Trips throughout the year.

With a passion for learning and wanting to see every child be a success, the possibilities are endless and when we work together, we can make a difference! Thank you for your support and caring about our students!
