Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Los Coyotes Middle School, home of the Centurion Honors Magnet!  My vision for Los Coyotes Middle School is centered on the belief that all students can learn when challenged at their appropriate cognitive levels with relevant and creative curriculum, engaging instructional delivery, and technology that connects meaning and context.

In order to implement this vision, our goal is to provide the students at Los Coyotes with access to high level classes with support, so that they may continue to develop as critical thinkers and problem solvers, in order to promote to and graduate from high school eligible to attend any four-year college or university.

This goal-driven student placement and college and career readiness is achieved through collaboration with the students as engaged and active learners, teachers and staff as facilitators of meaningful instruction and technology application, parent involvement and support, and community partnerships.

One focus goal this year at Los Coyotes is to build connections with students. One example is WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs.” WEB allows 7thand 8th grade students to serve as peer mentors to incoming 6th grade students during the summer and over the course of this school year. Another example is how our faculty and staff are building connections with students by mentoring, checking on, and coaching up struggling students over the course of the school year.

We are very determined to make sure students are placed in a engaging and challenging learning environment where they are supported by students and staff that care for them. We are looking forward to a great year.  Please come in and see us, tour our campus, and get more information about our programs.

Thank you.
