The GED is a series of 5 exams that measures knowledge of general education topics and skills at the high school level.   All five exams are administered once per month throughout the year and are scheduled both mornings and evenings to meet the diverse scheduling needs of our community. All exam-takers must have previously met with an academic counselor and have scheduled an appointment to take the exams.

If you complete all 5 exams you will receive a diploma equivalence certificate from the state of California.

GED preparation (optional and at no cost) consists of taking practice tests in all 5 subject areas to determine which topics need further study.  A teacher and/or instructional aide will assist you with studying those areas that need further review.  Once you are sufficiently prepared for the GED as demonstrated by final practice tests, you are encouraged to make appointments for the official GED.
